Morgan's Birthday Poem

The chronicles and history of Morgan Diana Bailey up until her 21st birthday, as is known and represented by her friends Madeline and Annie:

She was born by the piano;
she played all day and all night,
while her mom did her hair
in braids and ribbons real tight!

Then came the curse
of the bifocals plain.
They were a real bother,
they’d fog up in the rain.

These dark ages came quick
and they lasted a while,
good thing for her humor--
she waved off jokes with a smile.

Then to the magic-filled
Westmont she came,
she enrolled in an English class,
which went down in fame.

She met three pretty girls there,
all beautifully bright,
and she sighed, “If they’d be my friends,
I know I’ll be alright!”

Lucky for Morgan,
all three felt the same way,
and fell under her spell
of bluegrass fiddle play!

And now we all try
to live up to her manners
and since it's her birthday
we’ll make her a banner!*

Happy Birthday.  :)

*no real banner was made.  This is simply a poetic sentiment representing fidelity and friendship.

Stanzas that did not make it into “The Chronicles”:

Childhood was full
of knowing too much Latin
and missing the ball
when she was up battin’

and

She used to have
bifocals and braces
and now that they’re gone,
Bradley’s off to the races!
